Objecting to film-maker Aisha Sultana’s plea in search of quashing of the sedition case towards her, the Lakshadweep administration on Tuesday informed Kerala Excessive Courtroom she had not been cooperating with the probe and her monetary transactions should not clear.

Final month, Lakshadweep police had registered the sedition case towards Sultana primarily based on her assertion in a TV channel debate saying the Union Authorities had used the Covid-19 pandemic as a bio weapon towards the folks of Union Territory of Lakshadweep.

After acquiring bail from the HC, the Lakshadweep-based movie maker, who has been on the forefront of agitations towards the proposed reforms for the island, had moved a petition in search of that the FIR be quashed.

Opposing the petition, Union Authorities senior standing counsel S Manu submitted an announcement earlier than court docket saying, “She raised a number of baseless allegations towards police after submitting the petition within the court docket and indulged in a malicious marketing campaign towards the police by way of the media.”
