After the morning session of Rajya Sabha was a washout on Tuesday, leaders of assorted events reached a consensus to permit the Home to operate, beginning 1 pm, when a dialogue on Covid-19 can be taken up. The Home was adjourned twice within the morning, as members of the Opposition continued to demand discussions on numerous matters.
Sources stated a return to “regular functioning” with Covid dialogue was “facilitated in a gathering” between Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu, Chief of Home Piyush Goyal and Opposition leaders together with Anand Sharma and Jairam Ramesh of Congress, Derek O’ Brien of TMC, Tiruchi Siva of DMK, Harivansh and Minister of State of Parliamentary Affairs Muraleedharan.
In the course of the assembly, a supply stated, “Naidu pressured the necessity for return to regular so that every one vital points could be mentioned in an orderly method”. He agreed to allow a brief length dialogue on Covid and loosen up the time restrict to have 4 hours of dialogue.
